I keep my portable bits and bobs in this cute Stars & Stripes American Apparel purse which bounces between my various handbags/totebags as I please. It's the perfect size for keeping everything together but still fitting into even the smallest of my bags. Makeup wise I keep it simple. I carry my Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder compact everywhere with me, as if I ever need a makeup touch up its usually a little powder to counter the dreaded midday shine. I also like to keep a stick of Collection's Lasting Perfection concealer on me for when I have blemishes that need retouching throughout the day, and a tube of L'Oreal's Volume Million Lashes mascara in case of emergency reapplication. I also carry whichever lipstick I'm using on the day, as you can see ModelCo's Party Proof lipstick in Kitty is a favourite. It's a spot-on 'my lips but better' shade, so perfect for everyday wear. I have a lip balm stowed in every bag I own, but my EOS Pomegranate & Raspberry lip balm travels with me everywhere. It gets to work so fast on damaged lips, and isn't at all glossy or wet so can be applied immediately before lipstick. I also keep these mini perfume samples stowed in all of my handbags. They're ideal if you've been in a rush and forgotten your perfume but perfect for touchups especially if you're heading straight from work/uni to a party/dinner. Peony Blush & Suede by Jo Malone is the perfect day to night transition.
For non-makeup days I keep this sample-size tube of La Roche Posay's Effaclar Duo at hand. It's my go-to preventative spot treatment and I wear it everyday, even when I don't have any spots. If I've forgotten to put it on, or need a touch up, this mini is there to save the day. Likewise, hand sanitiser, a saving grace if you use public transport on a regular basis. This Soap & Glory one smells deliciously fresh and fruity. Soap & Glory's Hand Food is my favourite hand cream. It's light so sinks in pretty fast and the smell lingers pleasantly.
For emergencies I keep a pot of contact lens fluid in every handbag. The short-sighted amongst you will know just how irritable contact lenses can be, and sometimes you just gotta get it out. I also like to have constant supplies of bobby pins, and hairbands for hair emergencies. If my hair is up in a bun then Scunci black elastics are my go-to, the tighter the better. However, if I need to get my hair out of my face I like to use a Twistband. These are really loose, so don't leave any kinks, but won't support a high bun or ponytail. I like to use these to keep my hair in a loose bun at the nape of my neck when I'm working. Paracetamols are an obvious one, I'm prone to headaches so make sure to always have spares.
