MERRY CHRISTMAS (FROM THE COUNTRYSIDE)!
MERRY CHRISTMAS from the countryside, where I'm typing this before a roaring log-fire, and with the aroma of pine needles, pomanders, and a gazillion candles filling the air. I'm HOME for Christmas; to endless boxes of chocolates/a fluffy puppy/some of my favourite people in the world/festive cocktails galore/and a mince pie (or four).
For a year at least, there's an end to the counting down, hunting for presents, and late-night wrapping sessions - for Christmas Day is finally here! I hope that you're all having the most wonderful time with your friends & family and that Santa was super generous to you all!
For me, today is all about family, food, and fun - involving endless rounds of Trivial Pursuit, bad TV, fizz, nibbles, crackers, and yet more fizz!
Post-turkey I'll be spending the afternoon playing with my new toys (especially the beauty bits) before cosying up before the fire with a stack of books - bliss, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Wishing you all lots of love and good wishes.
Now, let's EAT, DRINK, and be MERRY!
